-  - Analysis: This comic shows us that personal impression is not respected in the workplace. Moreover, he has to get a criticism from his boss. First of all, he was so happy when his boss accepted his nose ring. He didn’t think after that his boss forced him to wear a long chain on his nose.

-    - Analysis: Nowadays, racism in soccer is rising more and more strongly.  It causes a negative effect on the solidarity between the players, between the players and their coaches and fans.

  1. Hi Thoan, I have some comments for your entry 3
    -Item 1:I think there is only one type of bias, discrimination because the boss has a negative thought about the staff's nose ring and then forces him to wear a long chain. Actually, the discrimination(negative thought+action) includes the prejudice(negative thought)
    -Item 2: In this picture, through the saying the father talks to his daughter, we can see that he seems to prevent her from the office since he didn't want to bring her to the office to have a good career because she is not a man. therefore, it should be discrimination here
    -Item 3: For this video, when you analysing it to demonstrate the type of bias, you should explain clearly why it must be discrimination.For example, the black footballer Eto'o was ejected from the match by the coach because of a mistake which he didn't make.

  3. hi Thoan, there are some my comments for your entry:
    Overall, i'm appreciated your entry because of the variety of types of bias but there are some mistakes according to my personal thoughts
    1st item: you should tell detailedly what the type of discrimination is, and in my opinion, it's discrimination, not prejudice
    2nd item: i think it's sexual discrimination.
    3rd item: it's great when you called right name for this discrimination. However, you can make it clear by analysing the examples in that video.

    + I think in item 1, it isn't exact when you explain about discrimination. Why you told that personal impression isn't respected in workplace?
    + In item 3, you should tell more detail about the case of the black player

  5. Dear Thoan,
    You have done a good job on choosing and analysing the items, I appreciate your efforts.
    However, there are somethings I am not totally agree with you.
    In first item, I think that it is discrimination only. Most people think that the staff must be formal in their offices, and the appearance of the man in that picture is unacceptable with his nosering. That is not right. The effect of their work does not depent on what they wear.
    In second item, in my perspective, it should be discrimination as well. In detail, I think it must be sexual discrimination. The man showed his daughter the high buildings and said that only men could look forward to somethings like that, not women. He meant that women could not do any extraordinary things as men could do.
    I have the same comment about the last item as Huong've given you. If you clarified content of the video a little bit more, it would be better.
    Anyway, you did it quite well. I hope that all my comments will be hwlpful for you next time.
