Item 1:
- Discrimination
- Analysis: it can be
easily seen that the white have a deep racial discrimination with the black and
others who are not belong to their white community. Apparently, they only want
to live with white people and there is no room for the black to live in a
community. The black are treated unequally.
Item 2:

- Analyse: the
employer has a negative feeling about the man just because he reminds the
employer of another person who he hated since he was in high school. Therefore,
he refused to give the job to the interviewee without knowing whether the man
works effectively or not.
Item 3:
- Stereotype
- Analyse: when seeing
a man with a lot of tattoos that cover entirely his face and body like this,
many people may think that he would be a gangster or a person with bad
characteristics such as dishonest, naughty or stubborn. These tattoos makes him
look unprofessional and less attractive than usual person. Actually, he is a
great university teacher, painter and composer as well and have run for
President in Czech Republic's 2013 election.

ReplyDeleteI can see that your entry is quite interesting with many meaningful picutures. I also agree with you on almost of everything. I only give you a comment that in Item 2, it shoud be discrimination, not prejudice, because the employer didn't only dislike the candidate as he reminded the employer someone he hated in high school, but he also didn't select the candidate although he has every qualification!

For the first entry, I think you should point out more detai about the type of discrimination. I suggest that the type of discrimination is racist. How about it?
and, you should use the noun " analysis" instead of analyse.

I agree with you on item 1 and 3; however, I think the type of bias in item 2 is discrimination, not prejudice. The employer in that picture only thinks badly about the applicant but also rejects him from the post.

ReplyDeleteI can't deny that this is such a great entry because it's very interesting and informative. I totally agree with you on item 1 and 3; however, in my perspective the type of bias in item 2 should be discrimination, instead of prejudice as you mentioned. The employer not only had bad feeling on the applicant but also refused to give the job to the interviewee.
