ENTRY 3_ Le Ngoc Xuan Mai

Entry 3_ Lê Ngọc Xuân Mai  

ITEM 1:

- Analysis:

In this advertisement, the father always considers the son better than the daughter. That shows directly in his whole action. He forces the daughter to do everything, but the son has to do nothing. It  is clear that it still exists the difference in gender and the girls are inferior to the boys.

- Analysis:

In some places,Overweight and obese youth frequently are teased, harassed and mistreated because of their weight. Weight-related teasing (weight bias) can have a damaging impact on both emotional and physical health.

Many people, especially older people often think that if you are a woman, you MUST know how to cook. The printed picture shows that women's duty is cooking.

  1. Hi Mai, I have some comments about your bias:
    + Item 1: Besides considering the son better than the daughter of the father, I think you should mention the fact that the daughter was much more successful than the son. You can see that at the end of the video. From then, we found that women is worth being respected in today society. They can do as well as men, even better and the life proves that. We can see many women have powerness in the government such as: Corazon Aquino, Nguyen Thi Doan, Angela Dorothea Merkel, etc
    + Item 2: I think it should be Prejudice. Overweight makes them feel guilty, they have negative attitude towards it.
    - Item 3: I don't agree more with you

    + Your entry is very good and impressive with diversity of types of bias.
    + your analysis is clear, mostly correct and easy to understand. Good job, friend!
    other points
    + I totally agree with Ngoc Anh's Comments in the first and the second items
    + I'm not sure I can't agree totally with your analysis in the item 3. I think the type of bias must be Prejudice
